Springtime for Ultimate!

Hello Miami Women's Ultimate Enthusiasts,
We've had some interesting developments (positive and negative) over the winter season.  Sadly, one of our captains, Izzi, has contracted a nasty case of mono and is out for the season, as she is home resting and getting better for next year. We're carrying on as best we can, with Christen continuing as captain, and me stepping in as her co-pilot for the time being. On the positive side of things, we've been approved as an official Club Team, and will hopefully be receiving funding next semester, allowing us to travel more, and focus more energy on recruiting in the fall. We're currently looking for a few spring tournaments to play in before sectionals (which are coming up fast!) to get our feet wet.
We will be holding practices this spring from 4-6 on Mondays and Thursdays at the Club Sports Fields off of 73 (I think it's 73... it's down past the stables and Ditmer), and from 12:30 to (Approx.) 2:30 (or later) on Sundays at Winton Woods. The Winton Woods practices are really a scrimmage put on by local ultimate enthusiasts through CUPA (Cincinnati Ultimate Players Association) that will allow us to improve our skills by playing with more experienced players who are always willing to help teach the game to others.

That's all for now!
Alice Ladrick, Vice-President/Co-Captain
